Merry and Bright!

December is already flying by as I try to stay organized getting holiday decorations in place, attend holiday parties, finish my shopping...well, you get the picture! But no matter how crazy life may get during the holidays, I LOVE IT! It's a time for friends, family and helping others. I wouldn't trade a minute of it!

This week the Stampendous Design Team is sharing projects for our "Merry and Bright" theme. Stampendous released this gorgeous Pine Ornaments stamp in July. It is beautiful stamped and colored, but as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to do Fran's melted embossing powders technique for a dimensional impression. The picture can't begin to do it justice, it turned out just as I imagined.

Stampendous:
CRP306 Cling Pine Ornaments Stamp
FREG004 Deep Impressions Chunky Embossing Enamels
FREG027 Shabby White Embossing Enamel
DP102 Detail Gold Embossing Powder
Acrylic Handle

Plus:
Cream Cardstock
Kraft Cardstock
VersaMark Ink
Brilliance Ink - Coffee Bean
Krylon 18kt Gold Leafing Pen
Heat Tool
Pancake Griddle
Foam Tape

Instructions:
Step 1:  Heat an electric pancake griddle to 350 degrees, place a small non-stick craft mat on the griddle
Step 2:  Place a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Cream Cardstock on the craft mat and spoon some Clear Deep Impressions embossing enamel in the center area about the size of the stamp, cover with a glass cover so you can see it melting
Step 3: Sprinkle the melting enamel with Shabby White Embossing Enamel and continue to melt (See complete instructions in Fran's book "Embossing Powder Techniques from A to Z")
Step 4:  Ink the Pine Ornaments stamp with VersaMark, then with a good coat of Coffee Bean and set aside
Step 5:  When the powders are melted, carefully remove the craft mat with the melted powders and stamp the Pine Ornaments image into the hot powders, let cool slightly, then carefully remove the stamp, let enamel cool and harden, clean your stamp
Step 6:  Tear the right and bottom edges, use a Gold Leafing Pen along the top and left edges
Step 7:  Fold a 7" x 10" piece of Kraft cardstock in half to form an A7 card
Step 8:  Ink the Pine Ornaments with VersaMark and stamp the front of the card in the upper left corner, re-ink and continue stamping the image in the other three corners around the card, sprinkle with the Detail Gold Embossing Powder, heat set
Step 9: Adhere a 4 1/8" x 5 1/2" piece of Cream cardstock to the card front, then use foam tape to add the Pine Ornaments image
